Nanga Parbat Base
Camp Trek
Overview
Nanga Parbat has an amazing south face, also called the Rupal face, which rises 4572 metres from the bottom of the Rupal Gah. This creates the biggest vertical climb from base to summit compared to any other peak. The trek includes easy paths and two short, not-too-difficult glacier crossings that take you right under the face for incredible close-up views. Though Rupal Gah is well-known, it is visited less than Fairy Meadows. In summer, the trek is moderate, walking through the green fields of Rupal Valley to reach the Ist base camp in 3–4 hours, then onwards to Lataboh and the Shigiri campsite.
