Itinerary – K2 Trek

Full Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Skardu & Gear Check
  • Arrival day in Skardu - flights or public/private transport.
  • Meet & greet at the hotel, get to know each other.
  • CNICs and passports are submitted to local authority for trekking permits.
  • Documents are returned before departure.
Day 2: Skardu to Askole (2900m, 6-8 hours)
  • Group breakfast in the hotel, then depart for Askole on 4x4 vehicles.
  • Drive through Shigar Valley, lunch near Dasu.
  • Total drive: 6-8 hours.
  • Explore Askole village.
  • Overnight in tents.
Day 3: Askole to Jhula (3100m, 6-8 hours)
  • Trek begins, Porters distribute loads, Walk mainly along jeepable road.
  • Lunch at Korofong campsite.
  • Arrival at Jhula campsite on Braldo riverbank.
Day 4: Jhula to Paiyu (3450m, 7-9 hours)
  • Views of Paiyu Peak.
  • Camp at the last site with trees.
Day 5: Rest Day at Paiyu
  • Wash, stretch, recharge.
  • Optional acclimatization walk.
Day 6: Paiyu to Khuburse (3990m, 6-7 hours)
  • Entering the Mighty Baltoro Glacier, mixed rock and ice.
  • Lunch at Liligo, views of THE FAMOUS Cathedral & Trango Towers.
Day 7: Khuburse to Urdukas (4050m, 3-4 hours)
  • Short strenuous trekking day Urdukas is last non-glacier campsite.
Day 8: Urdukas to Goro II (4380m, 7-8 hours)
  • Trek along Baltoro Glacier. View Masherbrum Peak (7273m) and Muztagh Towers.
  • First night on the glacier; cold conditions expected.
Day 9: Goro II to Concordia (4650m, 5-6 hours)
  • Trek to see K2 and other peaks Broad Peak, G2, G4, Mitre, Saltoro Kangri.
  • Concordia altitude is significant night may be extremely cold.
Day 10: Rest Day at K2 Basecamp
  • Enjoy the views of K2, Broad Peak.
  • Practice rope and crampon skills on a ice wall with guides for the GGLA crossing ahead.
Day 11: Concordia to Ali Camp (4800m, 5-6 hours)
  • Trek across Vigne Glacier to Ali Camp.
  • Rest and gather energy for midnight pass push.
Day 12: Ali Camp – Khuspang (4600m, 10-12 hours)
  • Crossing Gondogoro La (5590m).
  • Midnight start from Ali Camp to reach pass at dawn.
  • Technical descent to Khuspang campsite.
Day 13: Khuspang – Siacho (3350m, 7-8 hours)
  • Trek over boulders and scree.
  • Arrival at Siacho campsite among juniper trees.
Day 14: Siacho – Skardu
  • Gentle final walk, jeep through lush Hushe Valley back to Skardu city and farewell dinner
Day 15: Skardu – Islamabad
  • Breakfast at Hotel and drop-off at airport for Isb flight
